New to Grafted To Grow and not sure were to begin?
In Short:
Why the warfare against self is the greatest battle that was ever fought?
Why do you need to understand the true force of your will - the power of decision or choice?
By nature we are alienated from God. The Bible describes our condition such as:
dead in trespasses and sins; Ephesians 2:1
the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint; Isaiah 1:5, 6Â
no soundness in it; 2 Timothy 2:26
taken captive by him (Satan) at his will.
God appeals to the intellect and the conscience.
Come now, and let us reason together. Isaiah 1:18.
This is the Creator's invitation to the beings He has made. God does not force the will of His creatures.Â
He cannot accept homage that is not willingly and intelligently given.
He invites us to give ourselves to Him, that He may work His will in us.
It remains for us to choose whether we will be set free from the bondage of sin, to share the glorious liberty of the sons of God.
Do you feel that it is too great sacrifice to yield all to Christ? Ask yourself the question:Â
"What has Christ given for me?" The Son of God gave all - life, love and suffering, for our redemption.
On the other hand - what do we give up, when we give all?
A sin-polluted heart for Jesus to:
cleanse by His own blood
purify
save by His matchless love.
God does not require us to give up anything that it is for our best interest to retain. In all that He does, He has the well-being of His children in view.
Mankind is doing the greatest injury and injustice to their own soul when he or she thinks and acts contrary to the will of God.Â
The path of transgression is the path of misery and destruction.
God is not pleased to see His children suffer.Â
The divine requirements call upon us to shun those indulgences that would bring suffering and disappointment and close to us the door of happiness and heaven.
He requires us to perform only those duties that will lead our steps to heights of happiness to which the disobedient can never attain.Â
The true, joyous life of the soul is to have Christ formed within, the hope of glory.
God has given us the power of choice. It is ours to exercise. You cannot change your heart.Â
Furthermore, you cannot of yourself give to God your affections.Â
But you can choose to serve Him.
You can give Him your will. He will then work in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13.
Thus your whole nature will be brought under the control of the Spirit of Christ.Â
Moreover, your affections will be centered upon Him, and your thoughts will be in harmony with Him.
An entire change may be made in your life through the right exercise of the will.Â
By yielding up your will to Christ, you ally yourself with the power that is above all principalities and powers.
You will have strength from above to hold you steadfast, and thus through constant surrender to God you will be enabled to live the new life, even the life of faith.

At the end of time Satan's deceptions will be more subtle and his assaults more determined.
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. Mark 13:22.
