New to Grafted To Grow and not sure were to begin?
It is the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves...Beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils...
And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake. Matthew 10:16-18.
Jesus counsels His early disciples and His followers today how to meet hostility and how not to faint under persecution.
God's servants are His representatives. The power by which they are to overcome evil is the power of Christ. The glory of Christ is their strength.
Therefore, with eyes fixed upon His loveliness they can present the gospel with gentle spirit.
Moreover, that can be kept gentle under provocation and be more effective in favor of the truth than any argument, however forcible it can be.
Your Father's Spirit Will Tell You
Furthermore, by resting in the love of God, they will keep a calm spirit even under personal abuse.
His Holy Spirit will influence the mind and heart, so that their voices shall not catch the notes of the baying of the wolves.
Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Luke 10:3.
By God's grace His servants will meet the emergency.
But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. Matthew 10:19, 20.
As the Spirit of God illuminates their minds, the truth will be presented in its Divine power.
Those who reject the truth will stand to accuse and oppress the disciples.
Christ's followers reveal the meekness of their Divine Example under loss suffering and even unto death.
Thus will be seen the contrast between Satan's agents and the representatives of Christ.
The Saviour will be lifted up before the rulers and the people.
This would bring power and efficiency to the soul. The knowledge obtained by diligent searching of the Scriptures would be flashed into the memory at the right time.
The servants of Christ are to prepare no set speech to present when brought to trial. Their preparation is to be made day by day in
treasuring up the precious truths of God's Word
strengthening their faith through prayer.
Thus the Holy Spirit would bring to their remembrance the very truths that would be needed when brought to trial.
Jesus never purchased peace by compromise. The servants of Christ are called to the same work. They should beware lest, in seeking to prevent discord, they surrender the truth.
Moreover, no one can be true to principle without exciting an opposition.
Those who are true to God need not fear the power of people nor of Satan. In Christ they have eternal life.
Their only fear should be lest they surrender the truth, and thus betray the trust with which God has honored them.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you:
on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified. 1 Peter 4:14.
Christ's disciples might speak fluently on doctrines, repeating the words of Christ.
Nevertheless, unless they possess Christlike meekness and love, they are not confessing Him.
A spirit contrary to the spirit of Christ would deny Him, whatever the profession.

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed:
and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Christ is an example of a righteous character formed by obedience to the Law of God which is holy, just, and good - a transcript of the Divine perfection.
Christ became sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Thus by the atoning sacrifice of His Son, God has reconciled the world to Himself, not imputing humans' trespasses unto them.
He put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Christ is our atoning sacrifice and by faith we can accept the atonement that has been made.
