Christ in His death is the revelation of the reconciliation between God and humans.
The only begotten Son of God voluntarily met the claims of God's violated Law.
He took humans’ sins of all time upon Himself and became our Substitute.
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:6-8.
Wherefore in all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren,
God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself
that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God,
to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:17.
Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him
that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared;
Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;
And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all those that obey Him; Hebrews 5:7-9.
It was the object of Christ’s mission to exalt His Father's Law and make it honorable.
For God hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21.
In such a manner Christ made reconciliation between God and humans.
In what sense God is reconciled to sinners?
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23.
Nevertheless, Christ removes every obstruction and makes the access to God secure.
All are urged and welcomed to the pardoning love of God.
If I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all unto me. This He said, signifying what death He should die. John 12:32, 33.
By His love for the fallen humanity, God is honored, glorified and magnified through Jesus.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.
Thus He might be just, and yet the Justifier of all who would believe in Christ.
Furthermore, the justice, holiness, and truth of Christ are vindicated in the Law of God.
The law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good; Thy Law is truth. I delight to do thy will, O my God;
Yea, thy Law is within my heart. Romans 7:12, Psalm 119:142, Psalm 40:8.
Therefore there is nothing to hinder God's abundant mercy from descending - full in pardon, taking away sin, and imputing the righteousness of Christ.
If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness;
through the blood of Jesus Christ His Son.
Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1 John 1:9, 7; 1 Corinthians 1:30.

The reconciliation could be accomplished only through a mediator who:
Is equal with God - possessing the attributes that would dignify and declare Him worthy to treat with the Infinite God in humans’ behalf
Represents God’s love, truth and character to the fallen world - having connection with humanity in His human nature.
These qualifications are found alone in Christ. In covering His divinity with humanity, He came to earth to be called the Son of man and the Son to God.
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; Romans 1:20.
For in Him dwelleth all the foulness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9.
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men; Philippians 2:6, 7.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts,
to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ;
Who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:6, 4.
Therefore, as ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him; And you are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power; Colossians 2:6, 10.
Christ is the ambassador for God and the assurance for humans - satisfying by His righteousness on their behalf the demands of God's holy Law.

We have everything we could ask to inspire us with faith and trust in God.
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29.
The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7.
The world's Redeemer has the power to:
draw humans to Himself
quiet our fears and dispel our gloom
inspire us with hope and courage
enable us to believe in the willingness of God to receive us through His merits - our Divine Substitute.
Behold the pledge of the Father's faithfulness:
God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.
For when He would assure humans of the immutability of His council, He gave His Only begotten Son to come to earth -
taking the nature of humankind and retaining it in the heavenly courts.
O, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and love of God!
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; 1 John 3:1.
Through faith in Christ we become members of the royal family, heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus. In Him we are one.
Christ is standing at the door of our hearts, longing to pardon all who will come unto Him that they may have life.
He is not only merciful, but is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we welcome the heavenly Guest, then we stand before God and the whole universe innocent, though ourselves undeserving, while Jesus carries our guilt.
Christ has died to make reconciliation for our sins. Moreover, His complete obedience brings in an everlasting righteousness.

Christ presented to the world a new phase of greatness in His exhibition of mercy, compassion, and love.
He taught humans God’s revelation - the science of Divine government.
In doing so, He revealed the righteousness of the reconciliation of mercy and justice.
The reconciliation of mercy and justice did not involve any compromise with sin, or ignore any claim of justice.
All this could be, because Christ laid hold of human nature and partook those Divine attributes.
For verily He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham.
Wherefore in all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren,
that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:16, 17.
For we have not a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15.
For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made a High Priest; but He that said unto Him, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee.
As he saith also in another place, Thou art a Priest forever after the order of Melchisedec. Hebrews 5:1-6.

Christ came to give to the world an example of what perfect humanity might be when united with Divinity.
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood,
to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:26.
A complete ransom has been paid by Jesus, by virtue of which the sinner is pardoned and the justice of the law is maintained.
All who believe that Christ is the atoning sacrifice may come and receive pardon for their sins.
As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His name; John 1:12.
Thus God accepts us as His children and we can claim Him and rejoice in Him as our loving Father.
Moreover, through faith we may claim the righteousness of the Son of God as all-sufficient, who satisfied the demands of the Law of Love in His humanity.
Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;
And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him; Hebrews 5:8, 9.
Thus through faith we appropriate the righteousness of Christ, that we may overcome with Him sin when still in this world.
Furthermore, we are made partakers of the Divine nature (character), and thus Divinity and humanity are combined.
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;
and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19.
As subjects of the love of God we should ever be grateful that we have a mediator,
an advocate, an intercessor in the heavenly courts, who pleads on our behalf before the Father.
Therefore, we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20.
