Revelation Of God Through Christ: The Son Only Has Declared Him

Christ is the revelation of God to humankind.

The only begotten Son of God came to earth to be the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. John 1:9.

He is the embodiment of the glory of the Godhead. The light of the knowledge of the glory of God is seen in the face of Jesus Christ

Thus God has revealed Himself to humanity.

He stooped to take upon Himself our nature and in His Son we see the glory of the divine attributes.

Moreover, He undertook the case of fallen human beings who had lost their original holiness and were in ignorance of the perfection of God's character.

Jesus came to bring back to loyalty those who were not subject to God's moral government.

Christ came in the likeness of sinful flesh, clothing His divinity with humanity in order that He might bring before the world the holiness of God in His own character.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him...

Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?

He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. John 14:7, 9.

Revelation of God through Christ.

He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. John 14:9.

The perfect revelation of God to our world

Christ declared:

I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself;

but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. John 14:10.

Those who see not in Christ the Divine character are in the shadow of Satan's misrepresentation of Divinity.

The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not,

lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4.

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power,

when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews 1:3.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins;

who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. Colossians 1:15.

Jesus is the revelation of the glory of the Godhead

All that the humans can know of God for their salvation is the knowledge of the truth as it is in Jesus. They can attain to, for Christ is He who represents the Father.

The most wonderful truth to be grasped by us is the truth - Immanuel, God with us. Christ is the wisdom of God. He is the great I AM to the world.

We contemplate the glory of the Divine character as revealed in Christ, exclaiming:

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! Romans 11:33.

This wisdom is displayed in the love that reaches out for the recovery of lost and ruined humanity.

Inquiring of the Father

They ask: Show us the Father and we will be satisfied. We cannot claim God as our Father until we see Him.

Jesus answers them as He said to Philip:

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him...

Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. John 14:7, 9.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:

but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;

and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:10-12.

Christ exalts the character of God

He attributed to Him the praise and gave God the credit of the whole purpose of His own mission on earth - to set men right through the revelation of God.

Christ displayed before humans the paternal grace and the matchless perfections of the Father. He declared in His prayer just before His crucifixion:

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world. John 17:6.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. John 17:4.

When the object of His mission was attained - the revelation of God to the world - the Son of God announced that His work was accomplished.

Furthermore, that the Father's character was made manifest to humanity.

We are called upon to behold God our Father in the person of His Son. By faith we behold Christ standing between humanity and divinity, connecting God and humankind, and earth and Heaven.

He came to represent God, not as a stern judge, but as a loving father.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.

Christ came as a personal Savior to the world. He represented a personal God. He is the express image of the Father's person.

In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Knowing God by knowing Christ

No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. John 1:18.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father;

neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Matthew 11:27.

Jesus came to teach humans of the Father. Furthermore, to correctly represent Him before the fallen children of earth.

Angels could not fully portray the character of God.

Christ, who was a living impersonation of God, could not fail to accomplish the work.

The only way in which He could set and keep humans right was to make Himself visible and familiar to their eyes.

He came directly to them that they might have salvation and became a partakers of His nature.

Christ came to the world to reveal the truth that God is love.

Moreover, to display to the world the Father's attributes and represent the express image of His person.

Conclusion

The Father was revealed in Christ as altogether a different being from that which Satan had represented Him to be.

And no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father,

save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Matthew 11:27.

The love of Jesus, expressed for the fallen race in His life of self-denial and sufferings is the manifestation of the Father's love for our sinful world.

Christ endured shame, grief and death for those who despised His love and trampled upon His mercy.

He paid the debt of humans transgression upon the cross of Calvary with His own precious blood.

The ancient philosophers prided themselves on their superior knowledge.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man,

and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things...

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator. Romans 1:22, 23, 25.

In its human wisdom the world can not know God

Its wise men gather an imperfect knowledge of God from His created works.

Then they exalt nature and the laws of nature above nature's God.

Those who have not a knowledge of God through an acceptance of the revelation He has made of Himself in Christ, will obtain only an imperfect knowledge of Him in nature.

Christ was hidden in God, and God was revealed in the character of His Son.

To this revelation Jesus desires the minds of the people to be directed and their homage to be given.
