We receive God's Word as food for the soul, through the same evidence by which we receive bread as food for the body.

We are deceived, bruised, robbed, and ruined by Satan and left to perish.
But Jesus - the world’s Savior had compassion on our helpless condition.
He left His glory in Heaven to come to our rescue, founding us ready to die.
Christ healed our wounds, covering us with His robe of righteousness. He became our refuge of safety, dying on the cross to redeem us.
Therefore, whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him. Colossians 3:17.
