John 14:15 KJV: If You Love Me Keep My Commandments

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Christ is an example of a righteous character formed by obedience to the Law of God which is holy, just, and good – a transcript of the Divine perfection.

Second Corinthians 5:21 KJV: He Became Sin For Us

Christ became sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Thus by the atoning sacrifice of His Son, God has reconciled the world to Himself, not imputing humans’ trespasses unto them.

He put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Christ is our atoning sacrifice and by faith we can accept the atonement that has been made.

Matthew 5:14 KJV: You Are The Light Of The World

You are the light of the world.

That light originates in God – the ultimate source of light. It is His loving, merciful, gracious, righteous, truthful and forgiving character. This is the light of God’s glory.

This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

How can a man be born when he is old? How can these things be? John 3:4, 9.

This new birth is the result of receiving Christ as the Word of God. Moreover, of the Divine truths impressed by the Holy Spirit upon the heart.

A new spirit will I put within you.

The new spirit is the Spirit of God in us. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

John 1:29 KJV: Behold The Lamb Of God

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The cross of Calvary reveals the love of God towards humanity. It is His love that draws us to Himself.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all unto me. John 12:32.

If we do not resist this drawing, we will be led to the foot of the cross in repentance for the sins that have crucified the Saviour.

Then the Spirit of God through faith produces a new life in the soul. The thoughts and desires are brought into obedience to the will of Christ.

Christ came to present to our fallen world the remedy for sin. He became the Son of men that He might bring us back from apostasy to loyalty to God – binding our hearts together and to the heart of Infinite Love.

The Justifier Of All Who Believe

Jesus stands in the sinner’s place and takes the guilt of the transgressor upon Himself. He became the sinner’s substitute.

Thus God can be just to His way of governing the whole Universe, and be the Justifier of them that believe in Jesus.
